La Mata vineyards at sunset: wine tasting and guided nature walk

Discover the Natural Park of the Lagunas de La Mata and Torrevieja from a different perspective with an experience that combines landscape, vineyards and wine culture, guided by Hilarión Pedauyé Armengol, winegrower and oenologist specialized in the vineyards of La Mata, with WSET Level 3 training and a master’s degree in Oenology and Viticulture.

The experience begins with an interpretive walk of about 45 minutes around the Laguna de La Mata and its historic vineyards. You will walk along paths between sand, Mediterranean vegetation and traditional crops while discovering how the lagoons were formed, what species inhabit this protected ecosystem and how salt, climate and agriculture have shaped the landscape that today characterizes this area.

More than just a walk through nature, this first part invites you to interpret the territory: to understand why the water of the lagoon can take on pink tones, how the plants adapt to saline soils or what role the vineyards of La Mata have played in the winemaking history of the region.

After the walk comes the main moment of the experience: a commented tasting of an hour and a quarter, in which you will taste four selected wines accompanied by a pairing with local products.

Held at sunset, when the light transforms the landscape of the lagoon and the atmosphere invites you to slow down, this experience takes on an even more special character.

In addition, each attendee will take a small glass jar with sand from the vineyards as a souvenir of the landscape, a symbolic detail to preserve a piece of this experience.
